Community/Private Networks

State of Rhode Island, Department of Public Utilities
September 13, 2000 through present - BANG! is under contract with the State of Rhode Island, Department of Public Utilities (DPU) to provide technical consulting services for the evaluation and assessment of a proposal to provide a state-wide institutional telecommunications network and related system technology, connecting government offices and schools throughout the state. 

City of Fall River, MA
October 17, 2001 through October 17, 2003- BANG! provided design, installation, systems integration and training for the City of Fall River’s data network connecting government offices using Cisco UBR routers. In addition, BANG! designed and installed an additional school district network which supports secure connectivity and system access across both networks.  

City of Lowell, MA
April 13, 2000 through present - BANG! is under contract with the City of Lowell to provide technical maintenance support and training for the institutional telecommunications network connecting over 60 government offices and schools throughout the city. BANG! provided initial design, installation and systems integration of the network. 

City of New Bedford, MA
June 24, 1999 through present -  BANG! provided design, installation, systems integration and  training for the City of New Bedford’s data network connecting over 30 government offices and schools using virtual private network technology (VPN) with cable modems. BANG! is currently under contract to provide ongoing technical maintenance and support for the network.

Bentley College
June 1999 through present - BANG! provided consultation, design, installation, systems integration, technical maintenance, support and network management for Bentley College’s data communications network connecting off-campus student housing with the main campus. BANG! designed a virtual private network (VPN) using cable modems which provided Bentley College with a cost-efficient solution to connect its off-campus students to the main campus for remote access class participation, learning and communications.  BANG! has renewed its network management and support contract with Bentley College for three consecutive years. The success of BANG!’s remote access network solution for  Bentley College was reported in an article written for a technical journal in September 2000.

Exeter Hospital
January, 1999 through January, 2003. - Description of information technology services provided: BANG! provided consultation, design, installation, systems integration, training and technical maintenance and support for Exeter Hospital’s data communications network connecting 20 remote medical offices and facilities to the main hospital. BANG! designed a secure, virtual private network (VPN) using cable modems. This network solution provided Exeter Hospital with superior performance (higher bandwidth) at lower cost than the hospital’s existing network using leased phone lines.  This virtual private network was one of the first of its kind in the U.S. to be used by a medical institution for secure transmission of medical records in accordance with HIPPA standards. The success of the BANG!’s VPN network solution for Exeter Hospital has been presented at health industry association conferences.   BANG! has renewed its technical maintenance and support contract with Exeter Hospital for three consecutive years.
